HOW MR. SAUCE BEGAN

Mr. Sauce is built on a simple belief: Sauce makes everything better.

From backyard barbecues to family gatherings, our mission is to create bold, unforgettable craft sauces that bring people together and keep them coming back for seconds.

In 1998, while working at a storied barbecue restaurant in Petersburg, Virginia, a sixteen-year-old kid fell in love with sauce. Twenty-two years later, he finally decided to do what he loved — and Mr. Sauce was born.

The journey has included countless test batches, backyard cookouts, stained recipe books, late nights, and plenty of laughs along the way.

Every batch was another step toward creating sauces worthy of carrying the Mr. Sauce name.

Today we're proud to introduce Carolina Gold and KC Smack — our first signature sauces, crafted for pulled pork, brisket, ribs, chicken, burgers, and just about anything else that deserves more flavor.

Barbecue is just the beginning. Our mission is to become the sauce people reach for, no matter what's on the table.

One thing, however, remains non-negotiable: We do NOT put sauce on steak. If you put Mr. Sauce on a steak... he will find you. And he will be disappointed.
